Cruise Trip Report: Weekend in the Bahamas

March 10, 2023 by Payton Turner Leave a Comment

Sometimes a deal pops up that is hard to say no to. When it aligns with your dates, that’s when it gets booked on the spot. That’s just what happened in November when we booked a quick cruise getaway for Presidents Day weekend.

My family has been a fan of the cruise-style vacation over the years due to its simplicity and the ability to satisfy our needs (transport, food, entertainment, and lodging) all in one place. Well, minus transportation to and from the port. This relaxing type of trip was perfect for Presidents’ Day, some time on the beach and some time to rest.

Armed with two (promotional) companion passes, we flew down to Florida and boarded Liberty of the Seas, our first cruise in over five years. Of the Royal Caribbean’s vessels, we actually cruised for the first time on this ship 10 or 11 years ago.

Overall, I was very pleased with the trip and can’t wait to share the experience.

Trip Outline

I am excited to share my thoughts on cruising in 2023, as well as the concept of weekend cruising in this trip report. It will also include our experience on Royal Caribbean’s private Island: Perfect Day at Coco Cay.

  • Affordable and Efficient: Southwest to Florida
  • Booking a Cruise: Triple Stack
  • Liberty of the Seas: Interior Cabin Review
  • Liberty of the Seas: Ship Review
  • Perfect Day in Coco Cay Review
  • Spending a day in Nassau
  • Lounge Review: Centurion Studio FLL
  • The Weekend Cruise… would I do it again?

The Last Point

Between all of the possible entertainment options and activities onboard, in addition to multiple ports of call over a long weekend, there is lots to do. It was an action-packed weekend and a perfect way to celebrate my birthday.

Let me know if there is anything I should address about the trip in any of the upcoming articles. I am excited to share more!
