Finding award availability can be a daunting task. With multiple loyalty programs, some have dynamic pricing while others have award charts, and comparing them to cash rates can be confusing. I have recommended people maximize online tools to reduce the time it takes to book, including a hotel award searching service such as Awayz by Odynn.
What are the updates?
Awayz by Odynn has been working to improve its online hotel award search function, which helps travelers compare points and paid rates, as well as award options between hotels. In the latest update, they added the ability to search Accor hotels to their search service. This means that over 30,000 hotels are searchable through the service. It also makes it easier for Citi and Capital One cardholders with transferable points to assess all available options.
Awayz has also added full global coverage. Where you could only previously search up major cities, now you can search for anywhere, and the search bar will offer auto-completion options before you search. This opens up even more flexibility for those on road trips or for those who are trying to redeem their points for off-the-beaten-path destinations.
Additionally, for premium subscribers, Awayz has increased the number of searches you can make per month up to 250. Further, the number of award availability alerts you can set has doubled to 10. This is great as it gives me more flexibility in my alerts which I use to find availability at hard-to-book hotels.
What is Awayz by Odynn?
With Awayz by Oydnn, you can compare cash and points pricing side by side to decide which makes the most sense for you. Your account considers the different options available for you, including free night certificates, 4th/5th night free offers for IHG, Marriott, and Hilton, and even current transfer bonuses from banks to individual hotel programs.
The service can also look at a 12-month calendar of award pricing, so if you have a particular property in mind, you can find the dates it is cheapest and available.
My favorite feature is that you can not only compare cash vs. points for one hotel or within one loyalty program (i.e., one Hyatt Hotel vs. another Hyatt Hotel), but you can also compare rates across chains (i.e., Hyatt Hotel versus Hilton Hotel).
With Awayz, you can also set up award availability alerts on the Trip Overview page. When award space options for the hotel, you will get an email. Premium subscribers can have up to 10 alerts at a time, and free members can have one.
Awayz currently works with Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, IHG, and now Accor, but they will soon be adding Choice and Wyndham. I will note that the pricing and availability are mostly accurate 90%+ of the time. There are some instances where the prices are slightly off, but that will improve over time. It is nothing to worry about since its errors are few and far between.

The Last Point
Awayz is a great hotel award searching service that simplifies using your points and free night certificates for hotels. Comparing rates across different programs is a great feature when you are flexible and looking for the best deal.
Setting up award alerts is also a great way to save yourself the time of frequently checking if a particular hotel has opened space for the days you want to visit.
