Sometimes for a Disney trip, you want to be on-property in the center of the action. Other times, it matters less when the Orlando trip has mixed priorities, such as golf and other family commitments. On a recent trip to Orlando, the latter was the case with our stay at the Delta Hotels Orlando Celebration Resort.

We needed a place to stay that could comfortably accommodate the four members of our family with the goal of not having to blow through a bunch of cash or points. My go-to has typically been the Swan Reserve in Orlando, but that was outside the price range for this stay. Since I did not spend much time at the resort, this will be a ‘To the Point’ review.

Thoughts on Delta Hotels Orlando Celebration

Most of the property had just finished renovation since shared spaces such as the pool area and lobby were brand new. Despite our short time at the property, it was nice, although I wish we had gotten a chance to check out the pools. The property also had sports courts, which would have been nice if we had more time.

Upon arrival at the property, we received an upgrade to a King Bedroom Suite, which worked well for the family and allowed us to spread out. The room was very standard, but it was comfortable and essentially two hotel rooms that had been connected. Everyone slept great after a day in the park.

For breakfast, we had $25 in F&B credit (thanks to the destination fee) as well as two breakfast certificates from Marriott Titanium status. No sit-down restaurant was open when we had breakfast, so we just took some food for the road to make it to rope drop in the park.

There is a nearby free shuttle service to the parks, but this hotel is a 10-15 minute drive from Disney, so it is not the most convenient.

Booking

Despite having two full days in Orlando, we only needed one night of hotel accommodations. We booked a Friday night stay at the Delta Hotels Orlando Celebration for $119 all in. Given that there is a $25 resort fee and tax, that is a solid room rate for not only Orlando but most places nowadays.

We stuck by our goal of getting a cheap place to stay in Orlando and got a suite nonetheless. The resort fee, or in this case, destination fee, was not something we would have preferred to pay, but at least the $25 fee came with a $25 F & B credit which was fair. It also provides access to a theme park shuttle, sports courts, and bike rentals, although I did not verify that.

The Last Point

If you have a once-in-a-lifetime or special trip to Orlando, especially to visit Disney, I don’t know if I would recommend this property. That said, if you are trying to visit Florida without breaking the bank, I can certainly recommend this Delta Hotel by Marriott.

It was clean, comfortable, and spacious for our family. At this price, I think it is a terrific deal, especially when you could occupy kids’ time with the on-site water slides, pool, and other fun features.
